LVMH Métiers d’Art firmly believes that luxury products cannot exist without exceptional materials. Launched by the Group in 2015, LVMH Métiers d’Art has since invested tirelessly in an impressive roster of the world’s master artisans and works closely with them to spark their capacity for sustainable innovation and connect them with renowned designers and studios. Tanneries Roux has been part of this exceptional network since the creation of LVMH Métiers d’Art.
Located in Romans-sur-Isère, the French historic leather and shoe production area, they are one of the last remaining tanneries in France and are renowned for their exceptional savoir-faire in the tanning and finishing of calf leather. Since 1803, Tanneries Roux embody the French tanning excellency, combining tradition and innovation to supply the most famous fashion & leather goods brands.
Surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Drôme, the Tanneries Roux, specialized in calf leather tanning for more than 200 years, open their doors and give the floor to their craftsmen. They will express the beauty of their trade and the passion which animates them. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe leather, machines and techniques that are rarely shown, and to discover the challenges of the tanning process along the value chain.
To push the doors of the tannery is to enter a world enchanting and authentic, surrounded by the music of the tanning drums…
