Mercier

It was in 1858 that Eugène Mercier, a daring and visionary entrepreneur, broke with tradition and created a “champagne for all occasions”. The young and non-conformist founder had a keen sense of his epoch by, for example, commissioning one of the first advertising films from the Lumière brothers, or by creating the biggest wine cask in history which became one of the major attractions of the Universal Exhibition. The reputation of champagne Mercier soon spread beyond France. More than a century later, Mercier is still the reflection of a contemporary lifestyle by focusing on informal moments. The wines of the House remain faithful to the ambition of its founder: non-conformist, informal and spontaneous.
